hmm...
may be thay used the MinGW compiled version of Qt, or they recompiled qt5 themselves and disabled the use of SSE

As far as I understood it you must configure QT 5 with options needed and then compile it.
Just as its done with most Linux stuff, like the kernel.

Yea kind of, with Qt 4.x you actually had to do that on linux builds always.
Thay provided precompiled binarys only for windows and max, but sonce 5.0 thay have also precompiled versions for linux.

The problem is that to compile all Qt components properly you need come additional dependencies which are quite a lot actually.

Actually maintaining a 4.x branche may be less work on the short run, but its not a elegant solution, so I will have to look into compiling qt5 in windows manually.

Make two binaries like morph4u did for his emule lite mod could help? (Standard version and noSSE version) :/

Mhhhh, that's not the point, many people use very old machines for p2p only...

Well...
in my experience its cheaper to buy a 50€ atom board and put into some old PC than running the original mainboard 24/7 even the smallest atom is nowadays superior to a p3 CPU and with the difference in power consumption you have the investment back in under a year.
