If you mean associate ed2k links only, and not .torrents/magnets actually is not possible. Do you need to associate ed2k links ONLY ?

Yes, I prefer to use a separate program for torrents / magnets.

why? you can use nl for booth, are you missing some feature or what is the reason?

In the case, I prefer Vuze, has more features I like use
- RSS, download torrents / magnets signing rss feeds.
- Ability to rename, move low as files.
- Ability to automatically move according to the tag file to another specified folder.
- Several other.
The Neoloader support is basic compared to mod emule wearing (MorphXT), but you can change, but in the case of torrents that does not give.

Whatever is missing can be added, write a few feature requests what torrent or mule features would you want to see in Neo.
Many things that are missing in comparation to for example MorphXT are gui features, from the network side neolaoder is more advanced , it has NAT Traversal, ipv6 support and other protocol extensions like SCT etc... so here it is more compparable to the old NeoMule.
Adding GUI features is simple.
PS: please don't take any offense on this line if inquiry, i just want to make NeoLaoder better

Anyway the feature that you want is already added in the beta, since 0.50 release you can associate ed2k only holding CTRL and clicking on the setting. A window will appear and let you choose what associate and what not.
I think you need some days of patience, or if you want update to the beta version just ask and I'll explain you how to do step by step.
