password field

Postby abel » Fri Jan 18, 2013 10:36 pm

Hi,
in the Settings Window -> Properties there are simple strings in Password fields. Can you hide this data, like eMule webserver, using something like password fields that hides chars with *** ?
Thanks ;)

I don't see any poitn in doing that.
if you already have malware on your PC that captures the screen you are compromised anyways.

Or what is your actual thread model where this feature would help you?

if, in my home, someone using my pc, can not read the password directly from the client or .ini file.
In eMule file preferences.ini , IIRC, the password field is hidden by an hash function, or something like that ... ;)

why would you allow someone to access your PC whom you don't trust?

If he would snoop around in your passwords he may just as easy install you a key logger.
