Again. :-/
We don't have to import on Neoloader all NONSENSE functions of eMule.
We must NOT repeat the same mistakes.

First of all, we should understand what we mean with "connected", and which network it refers. DHT? Tracker? Kad? eD2K Server?

Firewalled: which means this word? Behind a firewall? How "firewalled" will be translated? It creates only misunderstandings.

iirc. uTorrent has an icon on the status bar is green when everything is ok.

Some indication to the user that ha should review his network connections is I think indeed needed.

Azureus has an interesting approach: Bittorrent FAQ - deutsche Hilfe und kostenloser Download von Bittorrent / uTorrent/ bitcomet/ Azureus FAQ
they show the status per file.

That is an interesting approach: Neo already has this summary page that shows downlaod problems, like add some hoster account for hoster cache or, no network activated, etc,,,

i could also make it show NAT problems if thay are any for the networks used for this particular file...

I don't know if useless or not, even an icon like uT is ok.

I was using NeoLoader without open ports, and I not noticed that in any way... instead I should be able to check if all working correctly or there is a block on incoming connection.

Where? I don't think so or is not what I mean.
